PDFLime is built with privacy as the foundation. Unlike traditional online PDF tools, we process all files entirely in your browser using WebAssembly technology. This means your files never leave your device.

What We Don't Collect

• Your Files: We never upload, store, or have access to your PDF files or any documents you process.
• File Contents: We cannot see what's inside your PDFs - all processing happens locally on your device.
• Personal Information: We don't require accounts, emails, or any personal information to use our tools.
• Usage Tracking: We don't track which tools you use or how you use them.

How Our Tools Work

When you use PDFLime:

1. You select files from your device
2. Files are loaded into your browser's memory
3. Processing happens entirely in your browser using WebAssembly
4. Results are generated locally and available for download
5. When you close the page, all data is automatically cleared from memory

Technical Details

PDFLime uses the following technologies to ensure privacy:

• WebAssembly (WASM): High-performance, client-side processing
• Web Workers: Parallel processing without blocking your browser
• Local Storage: Only used for theme preferences (light/dark mode)
• No Cookies: We don't use tracking cookies or analytics cookies

Third-Party Services

PDFLime does not integrate with any third-party services for core functionality. All PDF manipulation happens entirely in your browser without external API calls.

Future Features

We may add optional cloud features in the future (such as OCR or advanced conversion). These features will:

• Be clearly marked as requiring server processing
• Require explicit opt-in
• Process files temporarily and delete them immediately after processing
• Never store or retain your files

Open Source

PDFLime is open source. You can review our code to verify our privacy claims and see exactly how your files are processed.

Data Security

Since your files never leave your device, they are as secure as your own computer. We recommend:

• Using PDFLime on trusted devices
• Keeping your browser updated
• Using HTTPS (our site is served over secure connection)

Children's Privacy

PDFLime does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Our tools can be used by anyone without providing any personal data.
